St Mary and St Gabriel
Sharing the love of God
I would like to thank all those who supported the lighting appeal for Harting’s Church of Saint Mary and Saint Gabriel. Whether that support came from direct giving, or by attending any of the events that we put on during the one year that the appeal lasted, the effect is the same: we have raised the full £55,000 that we sought, and work on installing the new lighting in the church has already started. By the middle of March the interior of the church will have been transformed – come and see for yourself! But in the end it’s you, the donors, big or small, direct or indirect, that pushed us over the line, just in time for installation to begin. Thank you.

Chairman
Let There Be Light! Appeal
We have an opportunity to enhance the mood of the interior with some stunning modern lighting, thanks to us having a family in the parish that includes a world-class lighting designer, Alexander Stileman. His plan for lighting inside the church is truly inspiring: it will provide not only a most attractive and appropriate ambiance for the church, but it will also be energy-efficient with dramatically lower running costs for the future.
The total cost of the project, including design, materials and installation, is £55,000, Alexander has waived his design and supervisory fee, for which we are most grateful.
It is our intention to fund the project entirely from voluntary donations. We are appealing not only to our congregation and parishioners, but also to local schools and businesses; to trust funds and grant bodies; to those with no direct interest in the church other than to use it for baptisms, weddings and funerals, or for attending Christmas and Easter services.
We hope that you will help us to achieve this worthy ambition.
