CHURCH SERVICES
On every Sunday of the year (with very rare exceptions) there is a Holy Communion at 8am. This follows the 1662 Book of Common Prayer. The Service lasts about 35 to 40 minutes, and includes a short sermon. There are no hymns.
On the First and third Sunday of each month, there is a Benefice Eucharist. The Service normally lasts about an hour.
On the Second and Fourth Sundays of each month, the Benefice Eucharist is held at St Paul's, Elsted.
There is also a children's service most months - the 4 o'clock service. Details can be found here.
When there is a Fifth Sunday in the month (roughly once a Quarter), the Benefice Eucharist is held at Didling. St Andrew's Church Didling is a wonderful place. It is known as 'The Shepherds' Church' because it was built close to the old drovers' track across the South Downs. It was intended to provided shelter to shepherds on wet, windy and cold nights, and to give them an opportunity to worship and participate in the holy sacraments.
The Churches of the Benefice conduct many baptisms, weddings, and funerals. These are by arrangement.
