Accessibility
We want everyone to feel welcome and to be able to enjoy their visit to our churches. Details for each are given below.
St Mary & St Gabriel
Access to the church:
There is step-free access to the church via the lane (note this is uneven in places) to the side of the church with access to the rear churchyard path. This connects with the path to the rear (west) with a slope down to give access to the porch (north door).
Wheelchair access:
Wheelchair users are welcome. Most areas of the church are accessible, although access to the chancel and altar is restricted by steps.
Seating:
Space can be provided for wheelchair users alongside family, friends or carers. Please ask a steward or church member if you would like assistance.
Toilets:
An accessible toilet is available in the Law Room annex, accessed through the church.
Hearing:
The church is fitted with a hearing loop. Please switch your hearing aid to the appropriate setting.
Sight and lighting:
Lighting levels vary within this historic building.
Assistance dogs:
Assistance dogs are welcome in the church.
Parking and drop-off:
Vehicles may stop close to the entrance steps to drop off visitors with limited mobility. There is no dedicated parking for the church.
St Paul’s Elsted
Access to the church:
There is no step-free access to the church which is accessed by a gate and small steps to the church path
Wheelchair access:
There is no dedicated access
Seating:
Space can be provided for wheelchair users if required although access is not ideal as referred to above.
Toilets:
There are no toilets available.
Sight and lighting:
Lighting levels vary within this historic building.

Assistance dogs are welcome in the church.

St Andrew’s Didling
Access to the church:
There is no step-free access to the church which is accessed by a gate and small steps to the church path
Wheelchair access:
There is no dedicated access
Seating:
There is very limited space for wheelchair users and access is not ideal as referred to above.
Toilets:
There are no toilets available.
Sight and lighting:
There is no electric lighting at St. Pauls. Candles are used.
Assistance dogs:
Assistance dogs are welcome in the church.
Parking and drop-off:
There is no dedicated parking for the church which is accessed by a narrow single track lane
