First Eucharist of Pentecost and Quarter Peel of bells

The Bishop of Chichester, the Rt Revd Dr Martin Warner, will preside and preach. This will be one of his last duties before he retires at the end of May.

There will be refreshments after the service. Also you will be able to see and listen to a Quarter Peal rung of Harting’s Bells (see below)

What is a Quarter Peal?

A quarter peal on 6 bells is a continuous, non-stop performance of change ringing lasting approximately 45–50 minutes, featuring roughly 1,260 to 1,320 changes. It is a set-length performance commonly used to celebrate special occasions, mark church services, or mark milestones for ringers.
