‘The Annunciation – a Pilgrim’s Quest’ - A talk by Mark Byford, former Deputy Director-General of the BBC, preceded by drinks from 7pm.

Mark Byford was Deputy Director-General of the BBC and Head of BBC Journalism from 2004 to 2011.  He has served as a governor of Winchester University and as a Lay Canon and Senior Chapter Member of Winchester Cathedral.  His interest in the Annunciation (to which Harting Church is dedicated) led him to explore the way in which it has been treated as a subject by both artists and theologians, and in 2018 he published a book based on his research.
